If you are experiencing leaks coming from or around your speedometer gear housing, a worn or cut seal may be the cause.
An old or damaged driven gear can also cause a seal leak, even when new seals are installed. Replacing your driven gear may be necessary to stop the leak completely.
Carefully remove old, worn seals and reinstall new replacement seals to prevent further leaks. Make sure the inner gear seal is installed with the lip facing up (facing out).
This will ensure the driven gear will not push/get hung on the lip, causing an improper stem seal.
We find this orientation works better, especially after the prior seal has already failed.
